Corinne Adams is a writer, artist, and art historian from Columbus, OH currently based in Fayetteville, AR. Her research and practice is based in Afrosurreal transnational expression. Through a commitment to material and medium, she uses an interdisciplinary approach to ground surreal fantastical daydreams in the lived and felt physical interactions that create them. She earned her BA in Art History from Spelman College, where she served as the inagural intern for the curator of collections.

Corinne’s current project foregrounds the material of plastic as a site of transformation and metamorphosis across Black transnational practices since the plastic boom in the 1960’s. The work asks how these contemporary artists used the material qualities of plastic to express and abject the Black form and identity. She is a 2026-2027 Center for Black, Brown, and Queer Studies fellow and will earn her MA in the Arts of the Americas May 2027.
